Tono-Bungay enterprise

From my IBM 360 software training days, I remember Brooks’ Law, attributed to Fred Brooks of IBM. It added that simply deploying more engineers in software development may not make things happen faster. This commentary became more colorful over time – for example, the statement of the Russian economist Grigory Yavlinsky, that you can’t put nine pregnant women in one room and expect babies in a month! Brooks Law also holds true for building and nurturing a SHE (Sustainable, Honest, Enlightened) enterprise. Enterprise is essential to human progress. Still, society is deeply suspicious, especially about the quick-fix enterprise. What can be the solution?
