Actor Ram Charan at G20 Tourism Working Group meet in Srinagar

New Delhi: Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir is hosting the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting from May 22 to 24. Apart from the foreign delegations, Telugu actor Ram Charan also arrived in Srinagar as one of the speakers today. Addressing the event on ‘Film Tourism for Economic Growth and Cultural Preservation’, Ram Charan talked about his experience of shooting films in Jammu and Kashmir.

The actor said that he has been coming to Kashmir since 1986 as his father Chiranjeevi ‘shot extensively’ in Gulmarg and Sonamarg. Giving reference to the hall where the event was held, Ram Charan said that he shot a film in this auditorium in 2016.

About the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir, the actor said that this place has something ‘magical’ as he gets a surreal feeling coming to Kashmir. He added that the place draws everyone’s attention.

The actor also danced to his Oscar-winning number ‘Naatu Naatu’ at the event.

Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, along with Amitabh Kant, who is a G20 Sherpa, are presiding over the summit and welcomed the guests in Srinagar. While Jammu and Kashmir has been decorated to depict the art and culture, security has also been tightened. National Security Guard (NSG) and MARCOS commandos have also been deployed at the venue of the event.

India assumed the presidency of the G20 meetings on December 1 last year and is organising such summits all across the nation.

On the work front, actor Ram Charan will next be seen in S Shankar’s ‘Game Changer’ alongside Kiara Advani. The film is expected to release in April 2024. After the success of SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, Ram Charan has become a global star as the song ‘Naatu Naatu’ went on to win the Oscars. Ram Charan has made a global mark with his presence at the Oscars and Golden Globe ceremonies.
