

Operation Trishul: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has deported Mohammad Hanif Makkat, allegedly involved in a kidnapping and murder case, from Saudi Arabia under ‘Operation Trishul’.
Sources said Hanif was extradited from Saudi Arabia with the help of Interpol. Makkat was involved in the brutal kidnapping and murder of one Karim in the year 2006. He fled abroad after committing the murder. A ‘Red Corner Notice’ was also issued against him by the federal probe agency.
So far, CBI has brought 33 fugitive criminals who fled India under Operation ‘Trishul’. This operation was started in the middle of 2022. Last year, the CBI was successful in bringing back 27 fugitive criminals from abroad. So far this year, they have brought seven fugitive criminals.
Last week Harchand Singh Gill, wanted in the Rs 45,000 crore chit fund scam, was brought to India from Fiji. CBI sources said that their operation will continue.
