opinion | Rahul and RSS

A few weeks ago, they talked for over half an hour
Image source: India TV A few weeks ago, he spoke on industrialist Gautam Adani for more than half an hour and showed a photograph of Modi with Adani inside the House. Nobody stopped him.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stoked a fresh controversy by associating the RSS with the Muslim Brotherhood and describing the saffron organization as a “radical, fascist organisation, which has basically taken over all the institutions of India”. It can be called a secret society formed together. Muslim Brotherhood lines”. This is not the first time that Rahul Gandhi has said such things about the RSS, Narendra Modi, Parliament and the Judiciary. If he had not spoken on these issues in London, one would have read his speech here. As people in India know very well about RSS activities and its potential. People of India know that Judiciary is not under the control of government and never stopped Rahul Gandhi from speaking in Parliament Goes on. People remember how many times Rahul spoke inside and outside Parliament. Nobody switched off his mike. I remember he once said, let me speak for 10 minutes in Parliament and there will be an earthquake. He spoke for about half an hour but there was no such shock. We have heard Rahul speak on Rafale deal, on GST, on farmer bills. A few weeks back, he spoke on industrialist Gautam Adani for more than half an hour and the House showed a picture of Modi with Adani inside. No one stopped him. The speaker gave him full time to speak. So this It is difficult to understand why Rahul alleged in London that the opposition is not allowed to debate in Parliament and why its voice is being silenced. Did he assume that his audience there was not aware of the ground reality of India? It is strange how anyone can think on those lines in this digital India era. The most worrying thing was that at an event in London, Rahul pointed to a Sikh sitting in the audience and alleged that Mr. Narendra Modi treated Sikhs as second class citizens. In blind opposition to Modi, Rahul should not forget that anti-India forces can take advantage of such petty comments. Such statements can be used to incite tension in India. Rahul Gandhi should refrain from making such remarks.

CBI and Lalu Prasad

CBI officials on Tuesday questioned former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for nearly five hours in connection with the ‘land for job’ scam in Delhi. Lalu Yadav is unwell. He underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore and doctors have banned visitors from outside. It would have been better had the inquiry been deferred, but it would be wrong to say that the Modi government is trying to target Lalu Yadav because his party has tied up with Nitish Kumar’s JD(U). The ‘Land for Jobs’ scam came to light when JD(U) leader Lallan Singh complained to the CBI when Dr. Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister. Now, neither Tejashwi Yadav will ask Lalan Singh why he complained against Lalu Yadav, nor will Lalan Singh level corruption charges against the RJD supremo now, as both the parties have now joined hands. On the contrary, Lallan Singh will now say that the CBI is doing excesses on Lalu Yadav and the investigative agencies are being misused.

Ashok Gehlot and Martyrs’ Widows

Recently, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has come under criticism after some policemen misbehaved with the widows of the martyrs of the Pulwama terror attack. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has asked Gehlot to probe the incident and ensure that the promises made to the widows are fulfilled. Congress leader Sachin Pilot had also written a letter to his CM making the same request. The misbehavior with the widows of the martyrs is really shameful. Action should be taken against the responsible police personnel. The families of the martyrs have not put forth any new demand. All they are demanding is that the promises made by the government after the Pulwama attack should be fulfilled. There is nothing wrong in this. Promises were made four years ago, our CRPF jawans made their supreme sacrifice. Is it not the responsibility of the government to take care of the families of the martyrs? They are demanding jobs for their family members. These widows were demanding the installation of martyrs’ statues, but the police personnel started beating them with sticks. It brings nothing but shame to our society.
