Comment against PM: The Supreme Court has extended the interim bail of Congress leader Pawan Khera till March 17 in a case related to his alleged objectionable remarks against PM Modi. The apex court on Friday extended the interim bail period of Kheda. He was arrested at the Delhi airport after being offloaded from a flight to Raipur.

Bench will hear the petition after Holi vacation

Kheda was arrested by the Assam Police in the case. A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala adjourned the hearing till March 17 as it had run out of time. The bench also said that the replies of Uttar Pradesh and Assam were not on record and it would hear the petition after Holi vacation.

Khera was arrested for his alleged remarks against PM Modi

It clarified that the interim bail granted to Khera will be extended till March 17 when it will hear the matter. Earlier, on February 27, the court had extended the security of the Congress spokesperson till Friday. Khera was arrested at the Delhi airport after he was offloaded from a Raipur-bound flight over his alleged remarks against Modi at a press conference in Mumbai on February 17. He was later granted bail by a magistrate court here.
