An Indian passenger allegedly urinated mid-flight on an American Airlines flight (AA-292) from New York to New Delhi. An official gave this information on Sunday. According to a statement issued by the airlines, the student has been identified as 21-year-old Arya Vohra. The airline said the incident happened on Saturday. He allegedly urinated on a male US citizen in an inebriated state.
“American Airlines Flight 292 with service from John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) was met by local law enforcement upon arrival at DEL due to a disruptive customer. Flight at 9:50 p.m. Landed safely,” said a US airline statement. The airline company said it would not allow passengers to board in future.
“Upon aircraft arrival, Purser reported that the passenger was heavily intoxicated, and was not following crew instructions on board. He was repeatedly arguing with the operational crew, was unwilling to sit and was continually endangering the safety of the crew and aircraft and disturbing the safety of fellow passengers, ultimately urinating on Pax seated on 15G,” American Airlines said.
Passenger also misbehaved with CISF jawans
Prior to landing the American Airlines pilot contacted Delhi ATC regarding an unruly passenger on board and sought protection and CISF was informed to take necessary action, “After the aircraft landed, CISF personnel escorted him to the aircraft and the said passenger misbehaved with the CISF personnel as well,” an airport official told news agency ANI.
Airport Police has taken cognizance and legal action is being taken against the passenger. “We have received a complaint of urinating on a co-passenger of American Airlines against a person Arya Vohra who is a student in USA and a resident of Defense Colony Delhi. We are taking necessary legal action,” Delhi Police said.
Notably, the incident happened just two months after an Indian passenger urinated on a female co-passenger on an Air India flight. According to the DGCA, Shankar Mishra allegedly urinated on his co-passenger on November 26 last year in an inebriated condition.
