PATNA: Authorities of a leading private hospital in the city have lodged an FIR against a foreign medical graduate who had allegedly joined the facility by producing fake documents.
The accused, Mohammad Shamim Farooqi, had flunked the Foreign Medical Graduate Exam (FMGE), a screening test conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) and mandated by the National Medical Commission to qualify for practise in India, but joined the private hospital by showing fake documents. He had been practising at the hospital for over two years.
The hospital administration lodged the FIR against Farooqi, who had obtained medial degree from a college in Nepal, at Shastri Nagar police station here on May 12 based on the inputs provided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
According to the FIR, Farooqi appeared for FMGE in September 2012 and his roll number was 122096438. He scored 120 marks out of 300 marks. “The attached FMGE result bearing roll number 122096321 in his name is fake/forged. As per record, roll number 122096321 was issued to Mohammad Javed in FMGE September 2012 session. Javed had got 213 out of 300 marks as per evidence collected by the CBI Delhi (AC-1)” read a part of the FIR.
