PhD: 431 candidates compete for 134 PhD seats in NPU Ranchi News

Daltonganj : Total 431 candidates have applied PHD The entrance exam in Nilambar Pitambar University is scheduled on March 22. The exam for 134 vacant research posts is being conducted after a gap of five years. Applications have been invited for PhD program in 14 subjects, while five other subjects – Hindi, Urdu, Geology, Sanskrit and Sociology have no vacancies due to lack of guides.
History received the maximum number of 71 applications for 16 vacant seats, while English received 52 applications for 13 seats. Political Science received 38 applications against 16 seats; While 45 applications were received for five seats in commerce.
RK Jha, the nodal officer for the entrance exam, said, “February 28 was the last date for submission of applications. We have received 431 applications against 134 vacant seats. The exam to be held on March 22 will be of two hours duration for 100 marks. There will be no negative marking. The questions will be multiple choice, out of which 50 will be subject based and 50 will be research methodology.
Sunil Kumar Singh, in-charge of the post-graduate department of English, NPU, said, “As far as the English PhD program is concerned, it will be a deep test as 52 candidates will have to fight it out for 13 seats. I am the best of all.” I appeal to you to perform.”
