New Delhi: After his Japan visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his next destination of Papua New Guinea. Soon after arriving, PM Modi received a heartwarming welcome from Papua’s Prime Minister, James Marappe, where the latter touched the feet of PM Modi. This became a limelight because the Island nation discourages touching any guest’s feet after sunset. However, James took no time to crack these beliefs. Taking a dig, James Marappe has been the Prime Minister of the Island nation since 2019. He is the eighth Prime Minister of the country. Marappe completed his Arts graduation degree in 1993 from Papua New Guinea university.  He pursued subjects of Science and the Environment studies for his Post Graduation Honours and Business Administration for his Masters degree.
