danielle wyatt engagement cricketer posted photo with partner jorgie hodge on social media

England cricketer Danni Wyatt took to Twitter on Thursday to announce her engagement to her partner Georgie Hodge – football agent and head of women’s football at CAA Bess.

Wyatt posted their engagement picture from Cape Town, South Africa, where they played the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. She was part of the England T20 World Cup squad that reached the semi-finals of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023. England failed to qualify for the T20 WC final after losing to hosts South Africa in a nail-biting thriller.

Wyatt had entered the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) auction with a base price of INR 50 lakhs, but went unsold. However, if luck favors her, she might be able to participate in the tournament if a team decides to call her as a replacement player.

England will host arch-rivals Australia from June 22 to July 18 for a one-off Test and a three-match ODI and T20I series. If Wyatt is not called for WPL 2023, he is expected to feature in the England vs Australia series.

“Mine forever,” wrote cricketer Danny Wyatt in the caption of his Twitter post.

Wyatt, the second-highest run-scorer for the England women’s cricket team in T20Is, said she was ‘heartbroken’ after not finding any takers in the WPL 2023 auction.

โ€œDreamed of playing in WPL. Heart broken. Congratulations to all the people picked up. India is the best place to play cricket.

Wyatt made his ODI and T20I debut for England in 2010. For England, he has scored 1776 runs in 102 ODIs with the help of 2 centuries and has scored 2369 runs in 143 T20 matches with the help of 2 centuries. He started as a middle-order batsman in the early phase of his career, and has opened since 2017. He is yet to make his Test debut.
