Under Lanning’s leadership, Australia won their third consecutive ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title. His team defeated South Africa by 19 runs at Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday. Australia won all six of their matches in the tournament.
India’s star batsman Jemimah Rodrigues has been appointed as the vice-captain of Delhi Capitals for the upcoming Women’s Premier League. Earlier, in the auction, the company had paid Rs 810 crore or approximately USD 99.35 million to acquire the rights.
22-year-old Jemimah Rodrigues was snapped up by Delhi Capitals for the inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL). The Mumbai-based batsman was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2.20 crore in the WPL match being held in Dubai on Monday. The teenage sensation, a mainstay of the Indian women’s cricket team, is currently part of the squad participating in the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. This development comes a day after Jemimah played a crucial knock against Pakistan in the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup.

Earlier, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on Thursday unveiled the mascot of the Women’s Premier League ‘Shakti’. ANI posted a video on its Twitter handle. The inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League is set to begin on March 4 with the first match being played between Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
