The Women’s Premier League is shaping up to be quite the tournament. Even though only seven matches were played in the inaugural season of the competition, there has been a lot of reshuffle in the points table. With Delhi Capitals taking on Mumbai Indians at the top of the table in the league on Thursday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, it was expected to be a cracker-jacker of a game.
However, contrary to the hype MI registered an impressive win in this match. They first chased down DC for 105 with 5 overs to spare, aided by a superb bowling performance from Sayka Ishaq (3/13), Issey Wong (3/10) and Hayley Mathews (3/19). Score followed. ,
Yastika Bhatia top-scored with 41 off 32 balls, while Mathews scored 32 off 31 balls, but Nat Sciver-Brunt and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur came back to finish off the chase for the team and win the match by 8 wickets .

The result now means that Mumbai are the only team to remain unbeaten in the competition. This win has consolidated their position at the top of the table with three wins from three matches. Delhi also did not face defeat in its first two matches, but on Thursday it tasted its first defeat.
The sides are numbered 1 and number 2 respectively on the table. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore have not opened their account in the table and are at the bottom of the table. UP Warriors are third while Gujarat Giants are fourth.
