India vs Australia Ahmedabad Test ‘Animal lover’ Rohit Sharma urges fans to celebrate the festival of colors responsibly

IND vs AUS: Team India’s all-format captain Rohit Sharma took to Twitter to post a special message for his fans on the festival of colours. For the unversed, senior opener Rohit Sharma, one of the finest batsmen of all time, is a member of PETA and has always been an animal lover, inspiring millions of his fans to show their love for animals.

As the entire nation gears up to celebrate the much-loved festival by sprinkling colors on each other, skipper Rohit Sharma urged his fans to celebrate Holi responsibly by ensuring that they do not throw color at stray animals.

β€œA day of colours, joy, food and fun with friends and family. May you all enjoy it to the fullest Jam ke Holi khelo but be careful and save stray animals. Colors on stray animals,” he tweeted.

Earlier in January, Rohit Sharma scored a half-century in the first ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka in Guwahati. The star batsman celebrated his half-century by pointing his bat towards the sky while uttering a few words. Rohit’s pet dog reportedly died a day before the match. Several fans on Twitter claimed that Rohit dedicated his half-century to his late pet.

Meanwhile, in a video that has gone viral on social media, Rohit Sharma is seen throwing ‘gulal’ at his teammate Virat Kohli. The video was posted on Instagram by Shubman Gill, in which the Indian team is seen celebrating Holi in the team bus ahead of the Ind vs Aus 4th Test in Ahmedabad.


Despite losing the 3rd Test, India still leads 2-1 in the IND vs AUS Test series. The fourth and last match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from March 9.
