MS Dhoni-led CSK Chennai Super Kings pre-season camp to begin from March 3

The 2023 season of the Indian Premier League is scheduled to begin on March 31. With less than a month left for the start of the T20 tournament, all the franchises have started gearing up for the event. The latest update is that the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will begin their pre-season camp on March 3 (Friday).

While Dhoni started working on his match fitness a few weeks ago, with videos of his net sessions regularly going viral at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, he was initially batting only against spin. However, with the official camp now set to begin tomorrow, the former India skipper could step up the intensity of his training with the Men in Yellow set to be a part of the opening game at the Narendra Modi International Stadium in Ahmedabad.

“CSK will start training from tomorrow. Dhoni will reach tomorrow. Members of the Indian team will attend the camp,” CSK CEO KS Vishwanathan confirmed on Thursday, quoting a PTI report.

The same report also claimed that Indian batsmen Ajinkya Rahane and Ambati Rayudu would be part of the camp, with Dhoni arriving in the city on Friday itself.

With the tournament set to return to its traditional home-and-away format after a break from that trend due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is widespread speculation whether this could be the CSK skipper’s last IPL season.

The 41-year-old had already indicated that he would like to bid farewell only after playing his last match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, which happens to be the home ground of the franchise, and this season has provided him with an opportunity to do just that. Were. Really goodbye.

The last few seasons haven’t been the best as far as their individual form is concerned, CSK also finished second in the tournament last season with Ravindra Jadeja initially leading the side before Dhoni was handed over the captaincy .
