PM Modi can toss coin in Ahmedabad test report, can comment

The fourth and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played on Thursday in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. While there is a lot to look forward to in terms of cricket in this series, more eyes are expected on the game as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to watch the action on the first day along with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

In a recent update, it has been learned that PM Modi along with his Australian counterpart may be present at the time of the toss and may also give the coin at the toss before the start of the final Test match of the series. This has been confirmed in a report by news agency ANI.

The report cited a radio interview with NOVA 93.7 Perth in which Australian Prime Minister Albanese confirmed that he and PM Modi would be at the toss.

The transcript of his interview on the PM’s official website read, “Me and Prime Minister Modi flipping the coin, there’s a lot of pressure on it.”

However, he seemed unsure whether it was he or Albanese who was going to toss the coin.

Meanwhile, another report says that Modi can do commentary in this test match. PM Modi has already come to the world’s largest cricket ground, while Albanese’s visit is part of the celebration of 75 years of India-Australia friendship.

While India lead the series 2-1, a place in the World Test Championship final is at stake for the Men in Blue. In contrast, Australia’s win in Indore has already helped them book a spot in the summit clash of the 2021-23 WTC cycle.

If India fail to win the final Test match in Ahmedabad, they can still book a place in the WTC final, but will depend on the result of the Sri Lanka-New Zealand Test match.
