WPL 2023 Trophy: The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) got off to a great start in Navi Mumbai. The 1st match of the historic WPL tournament is being played between Ath Mooney’s Gujarat Giants (GG) and Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians (MI) at the DY Patil Stadium.

Punjabi rapper AP Dhillon, Bollywood actresses Kiara Advani and Kriti Sanon enthralled WPL fans with their iconic performances at the grand opening ceremony, which was also attended by BCCI President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah and other top officials of the Board.

After the WPL 2023 opening ceremony got over, the captains of all the five teams – Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriors – took center stage to unveil the coveted 2023 Women’s Premier League (WPL) trophy. Got it. First time in the world.

A total of five teams are participating in the first edition of the 2023 season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023). The five participating teams in WPL 2023 are Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat Giants (GG), UP Warriors (UW), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). There will be a total of 20 league matches and two playoff matches in the WPL 2023 season.

All the matches of WPL will be played at two venues – DY Patil Sports Academy and Brabourne Stadium. The WPL 2023 Eliminator will be played on March 24 and the WPL 2023 final will be played on March 26 at the Brabourne Stadium.

The tournament will be played over 23 days, featuring four double headers. The first double header will be played on March 5, the second on March 18, the third on March 20 and the fourth on March 21.
